2011-03-04  LSS 2011 Open Call for Trainers and selections

 Please excuse the inconvenience of the LSS 2011 open call for trainers not having been published on the LSS webpage on time, but instead only through the IFISO and different LSS mailing lists, and additionally different Facebook channels. (Note: I, the webpage admin, apologize personally. I didn't manage due to personal workload.)

Just for completeness, here you can find the open call for trainers which was published on the IFISO mailing list on Feb 13. Application deadline was Feb 27.

On Tuesday, March 1 two training coordinators were selected by the Coordination Team, with support of Zero Generation. Congratulations to Kajsa Olofsson and Astrid Schrader. We're looking forward to great cooperation and an awesome event.

2011-01-19  LSS 2011 CT: extended

 From Jan 7-9, 2011 the coordination team (CT) of the Leadership Summer School 2011 met for their first face-to-face meeting in Avellino, Italy. Supported by Luka Lačan, head of the LSS 2010 Organising Committee (OC), member of the LSS 2010 CT, and current member of the LSS 2011 CT advisory board, they spent an intense working and teambuilding weekend, getting to know each other more closely, to ensure good communication and smooth and fruitful cooperation throughout the project, and especially worked on the topics PR and fundraising.

 After being selected for OC with his team, Joost Brillemans joint the CT as fifth in the team, responsible for ensuring good communication between CT and OC. Unfortunately, he could not join the face-to-face meeting in Avellino, as notice came too shortly, but common work has started off by now and is developing.

 At the face-to-face meeting the CT also decided to extend the team by an additional position responsible for Media and Design and admitted Uroš Zupan as number six in the team.

 Work on the event itself, on the new concept, the schedule and the funding has started and is picking up pace. We will keep you posted about the development here on this webpage, on our Facebook page, the new LSS 2011 Facebook group, our Twitter channels (@LSS_online and @LSS2011) with hashtag #lss2011, and other channels like older LSS Facebook groups, and the IFISO webpage and Facebook group.

2010-12-28  And the winner is... the LSS 2011 Organising Committee

 After receiving some really great applications from six highly motivated teams, the LSS 2011 Coordination Team (CT) had the difficult job to choose just one of them to organise the upcoming Leadership Summer School 2011. Thanks a lot to AEGEE-Izmir, APEF, IEEE PSUT, SSE Cluj-Napoca and TURKMSIC for their really strong applications.

 In the end, a cross-NGO team could convince the CT with their innovative concept. It will once more take the LSS a huge step further in its development. And being backed by many of the LSS founders, IFISO NL is bringing the Leadership Summer School back to where it was born, back to the Netherlands where the first LSS had been planed to take place, but till today has not. This time we are going to make it happen!

 Thanks a lot to Joost Brillemans and his team for their excellent application. Be aware, everyone! Something big is coming up.

2010-11-26  Open call for the LSS 2011 Organising Committee issued

 The LSS 2011 Coordination Team is searching for the next local Organising Committee! Applications are open till Dec 23.

After the successful Leadership Summer Schools in Ankara, Split and Ljubljana, now, we are looking for a highly motivated Organising Committee willing to take the challenge of making the upcoming forth edition of the Leadership Summer School even more successful than the great previous editions.

Here you can download the Organising Committee (OC) Call document, including important information about interesting facts, as well as the OC application form.

How to make your city and organisation the host of this event? Here's what you need to be able to do and provide:

• provide food and accomodation for about 85 people for 8 nights
• provide all the necessary materials
• Provide the training rooms and event logistics
• Provide the social/evening program
• You don’t have to organise the whole event!!! This is what the Coordination Team is there for
• There is the possibility to get financial support from grants as well as from sponsoring

To apply, please fill in the application form and include a rough budget draft in your application, by 23^rd of December 2011.

2010-08-10 Sharing is Caring - WAVE

 The main goal of the workshops was self - exploration and accepting your own strengths and weaknesses, because, as the LSS trainers firmly believe, getting to know yourself is the first step in becoming a true leader. The topics discussed on the sessions were: giving and receiving feedback, emotional intelligence and cultural differences, leadership styles, group dynamics, presentation skills, time management, solving conflicts and motivation... 2010-07-25 - LSS 2010 is over... only for the physical meeting!

 Today is a great day!

 After months of preparation, the first participants are reaching the Leadership Summer School place prepared for us by the Organising Committee of Ljubljana.

Here is a piece of the Opening Ceremony during which we have be honoured by a speech from the Mayor of Ljubljana Mr Zoran Jankovic at the University of Ljubljana.

2010-07-04 - New version of the website

 The Leadership Summer School website has a new skin thanks to the designing effort of Adela Tušanová, former LSS participant, web designer, graphic and online marketing consultant.

2010 - 04 - 29 - The Leadership Summer School 2010 is coming closer

 The trainers are starting to work on the trainings, the schedule is forming and the logisitical part of the event is forming. Only 10 weeks from now the Leadership Summer School 2010 is opening its gates for the third time.

2010 - 04 - 03 Application period for participants starts now

 After receiving so many great applications from trainers as well as participants we now have the challenge to select the crew for the LSS 2010.

2010 - 01 - 01 This years event will take place in Ljubljana, Slovenia

 Finally the venue of the next LSS is decided. The LSS will take place in the heart of Slovenia: Ljubljana. Currently the Coordination Team is working on the exact dates and the  final dates to be able to open the application for trainers and participants. More information coming soon!
