I am member of several think tanks such as the "Ashoka leading changemaker initiative", and I hold a certificate as a business mediator. My organizational background is in the AEGEE-Academy. Yet, I was lucky to have been given the chance of desigining projects and trainings for youth NGOs all over the globe. It was because of that I got selected as the National Youth Representative towards the United Nations General Assembly where it was my task to mainstream youth issues in the inter-governmental negotiations of the 63rd UN General Assembly and the UN Economic and Social Council. My past training experience I don't know how many training hours I delivered. It will be roughly 100 workshops in 20 countries so. But I also don't really care. I believe in multipliers. International youth organizations advance social development around the world, and fuel the personal development of their members: Not only do young people learn to develop and implement their ideas and concepts, not only do they gain invaluable experience in working in international teams, they also become more responsible, more centered personalities. Nowadays being a trainer to me means being part of that process: to empower young people, to raise youth participation, and to give back some of the insightful experiences and skills I acquired in my organization.  My core field of training International youth politics, conflict resolution and coaching |
| Go to top Kajsa Olofsson (Training Coordinator) 23, Sweden, ESTIEM My life in a nutshell I am a student in industrial engineering and management who believes in empowering people to realize and make use of ideas and potential, making everyone's world a little better place! I love being involved in youth organizational work as this provides fantastic opportunities for traveling, discoveries of cultures and people and I am continuously looking forward to more challenges and adventures! My past training experience Thanks to my first LSS as participant in 2009 I’ve discovered the amazing world of trainings! As a trainer I strive for inspiring and empowering others to explore their potentials by facilitating the process of making existing and new knowledge and skills visible and useful! I’ve played a major role in organizing of the development of a training structure within ESTIEM being the project leader of the first series of training new trainers events in the organization during 2010. I did in 2010 also initiate and organize the 1st edition of the TrainersPath, an event bridging the gap between the student and professional training world. My core field of training Communication, emotional intelligence and feedback | | Go to top Alexandra Tomescu 26, Romania, AEGEE & Zero Generation My life in a nutshell In my nutshell, there's the smell of freshly-peeled oranges on a cold winter night, the taste of velvety dark chocolate, the touch of dew wet grass in the morning summer sun, the sounds of wind and sea, the sight of my loved ones smiling. The joy of small things, the rush of new ideas, coloured pens and lots of paper. Big dreams! And courage to crack the shell open and look outside! :) My past training experience I've been a volunteer for 10 years or so, with AEGEE for six and with Zero Generation for one. I've done pretty much everything that was to be done (work on projects, lead project teams, take an advisory & supportive role, work on the local and European level... you name it, I probably did it! :) ). I'm passionate about non-formal education and ever since I started being a trainer (roughly five years ago), my life has been so much brighter: sharing what I know and empowering others, while being myself empowered and enriched, has made all the difference! :) My core field of training Feedback, active listening, motivation and coaching | | Go to top Arne Reis 27, Germany, AEGEE My life in a nutshell I never wanted to become a classroom teacher, because formal education rarely gave me the experiences I associate with trainings: excitement, inspiration, challenge and growth. My mission as a non-formal education trainer is to create learning scenarios that leave participants with exactly these feelings. If you come to LSS 2011, you will find out what I'm talking about! :-) And these are some of my personal projects for 2011: learn to play the guitar, try windsurfing, fall in love and of course save the universe... not too ambitious, is it? ;-) My past training experience Most recent training experiences: - December 2010: AEGEE European School 1, Las Palmas/Spain - September 2010: AEGEE European School 2, Poznan/Poland - July 2010: EYP Training for Trainers, Tampere/Finland - May 2010: AskNaomi Leadership Weekend, Passau/Germany - January 2010: AEGEE European School 1, Riga/Latvia Other positions: - Since October 2010: Speaker of the AEGEE-Academy (Training Coordinator) - 2008: Co-founder and core team member of award-winning YOUrope needs YOU! project - 2005/06: Vice President of AEGEE-Passau My core field of training Personal development | | Go to top Daniel Rau 25, Germany, EFPSA & AIESEC My life in a nutshell Small boy grows up in a small conservative town in Germany. Dreams about the big wide world, about . When wanting to break free always gets told by his parents "You are too young for that, you can do all of those things you are dreaming about once you graduated from highschool!" What the parents had speculated on was that the boy would have forgotten their words once he would have finished high-school. But he hasn't! With 20 starts to follow his dreams and for the next 5 years lives, works, studies and explores in France, UK and Spain. On the way falls in love with wonderful people, meaningful conversations and inspiring trainings. Currently has arrived in Italy. Feels more settled now but will probably never stop! :D My past training experience I have the chance to be involved in trainings and conferences of various student organizations, mainly AIESEC and EFPSA. In both cases I was appointed as head of training and trusted with the creation and strategic implementation of a sustainable training structure within the organization. I'm working as trainer and coach (last year I did more than 300 hours of trainings and I got money for it ;)) My core field of training Coaching | | Go to top Lies Schakelaar 26, Netherlands, IFMSA My life in a nutshell I fell in love with mr. T. on a rainy day in the autumn of 2005. What really attracted me in him was the twinkle in his eyes... I wished I could induce this twinkle in others peoples eyes too and make them live their dreams! So yeah, that's when our relationship started. Since then the passion has only grown and has never left me anymore. Sometimes our relationship had to go at a low ebb for a while, since I'm also determined to become a doctor this year and Mr. T. had to go to the background for a while. But he never completely disappeared. And everytime he returned again, he brought me new inspiration and motivation to continue our bonding. For me his sexiest characteristics are leadership and empowerment. I gained experience in these topics during my activities in IFMSA for the last 6 years. Our relationship is easy to combine with my other passions: traveling, emergency medicine and spending time with friends. So I hope me and Mr. Training will be together for some more good years to maximize the potential in my own and other people's lives! My past training experience - Particant in Training New Trainers Workshop 2005, Training Old Trainers Workshop 2008 and 2009 - Delivered many hours of training since then on local, national and international level. For the past 3 years I have been a very active part of EPSA, first as Liaison Secretary for my local association, then Vice President of Education, and until 1 week ago Training Officer, as mentioned above. On the day of election of the new team I had the huge pleasure of being awarded with the title "Honorary Life Member", which basically means that my future is tied together with EPSA's... c",) My past training experience My training life really started in LSS 2008 in Ankara, where my eyes towards the wonder of trainings were opened. I learned so much from the content of the trainings and from the trainers themselves, whom afterwards encouraged me to pursue a "career" as trainer. So here I am almost 3 years later, realising that I have actually been involved in trainings far further back, as a handball trainer in the 90es and later on in my faculty when organising various workshops. I love the fact that I can literally change people's life by putting some effort into something I really enjoy doing! My core field of training Motivation |  | Go to top Luka LaÄan 22, Slovenia, EESTEC My life in a nutshell Travel, traveling, traveler... Pick a word that has root in travel and you can find me there. I love to live life all around the globe so much that sometimes i forget where my home is. Going around meeting people sharing knowledge and experiences is something that describes me the most. If you combine that with soft skills trainings and NGOs you get a winning combination. Besides that I love music, sports, poker and parties. That's why EESTEC is the most amazing thing in my life, it joined the things I love in one spot. My past training experience I am an active trainer from September 2009 and I love every minute of it. Was a trainer on events such as Training 4 Trainers, Soft Skills Academy, EESTEC congress.... Altogether I delivered a bit more than 100 hours of trainings, mostly on team building, time management and leadership. It looks like it is only a beginning of a long journey which I hope will never end. About the project management experience I must say the biggest project I organized was LSS 2010 and it really was worth every second of my life that I spent on it. So many great memories, friendships, unforgettable moments... Can't wait to see you all on LSS 2011! My core field of training Team building | | Go to top Mircea Vadan 25, Romania, AEGEE & BEST My life in a nutshell Mircea is a computer science engineer and, during the faculty years, he was volunteer in the student NGO named BEST. There he discovered trainings and this changed his view on his future, so he decided to become a professional in this field. In the last 4 years he was involved in projects and events, in the local community and around Europe. He is passionate about psychology, personal development and social media. One of his strong beliefs is in empowering and developing individuals and organizations across the globe by encouraging a proactive attitude and social responsibility.  My past training experience - Vice president on HR in BEST Cluj-Napoca - Project manager in 5 non-training events - Trainer in more than 25 training events - Trainer coordinator in 4 training events My core field of training Strategic planning and change management | | Go to top Nick Mamo 22, Malta, IFMSA My life in a nutshell I am from Malta (and for those of you who don't know where Malta is, or what being Maltese means, suffice to say we are bang in the middle of the Mediterranean). And I'm a medical student - which means there's not much time for other things...and yet, I train, I run, I read a lot, and I drink a lot of beer. Not really much else to say! Oh yes, I'm left handed! [sort of!] My past training experience I have been a trainer for almost 3 years now, with most of my work being in non-formal education - presentation and public speaking skills, facilitation, communicating with people from different backgrounds, etc. I spent a year on the board of the Malta Medical Students' Association as Peer-Education and Training Coordinator - in fact I set up the training platform in my organisation. I am currently working on a Creativity Workshop [in Collaboration with ZG], and I am working in a new company related to Design and Apparel printing (t-shirts and the such!) My core field of training Facilitation | | Go to top Phillip Pinhao Chao 21, New Zealand, IFMSA, NZMSA, AUMSA & Youthline My life in a nutshell I was born in Taiwan and came to New Zealand with my family (Dad, Mum and older Sister) when I was five years old. I originally wanted to be a chef and train in hotel management because I enjoy eating different foods and I want to travel the world, meeting many different people. However I found hospitality to be unrewarding with the many long hours and so switched to do medicine, where I could still meet and interact with many different people. I am passionate about global health issues, mental health and health systems. In my time outside of medicine, I enjoy learning more about different cultures, being involved in community activities, reading, cycling and fencing. My past training experience One of my first experiences of training was through the NGO Kidsline, which provides a national telephone counselling service to New Zealand children 7-14 years old. This unique service trains 16-18 year olds to be the telephone counsellors and empowered me with many skills such as emotional intelligence and effective communication. I then went on to train at a similar NGO called Youthline, a youth development organisation targeted to 16-25 year olds around New Zealand. I completed the process at Youthline to become an accredited facilitator. At Youthline, I have facilitated and developed personal development, youth counselling, reflective practice and cultural competency courses as well as being on the Strategic Review Committee which advises the Board of Trustees and the CEO. Other community training organisations I have been involved in are Zenergy Global, Essentially Men, Radio Lollipop, Rotary and Rotaract. In medical student training, I have taken part in the IFMSA Training New Trainers and Think Global workshops, as well as being a trainer on Leadership Development at a General Assembly. Currently I am the IFMSA Projects Support Division Assistant with active roles in a few small working groups in the Federation. On a national level, I have been an executive member of the New Zealand Medical Students’ Association (NZMSA) since 2010 in the role as Membership Services Officer - providing services to our members - and this year as secretary. My core field of training Emotional intelligence | | Go to top Wander Kenter 23, Netherlands, IFMSA & EMSA My life in a nutshell I cannot live a day without music. I have this thing with music,  love to listening to or play music all day long. But off course I also have to do other things. For example my  study: Governance, Management and Health Science, in Enschede (the Netherlands). Besides my study and music I like to swim a lot, do some occasionally cycle racing, love to cook for friends and family. In the summer times I like to make big travels to far corners of the world and explore new cultures and see amazing things. And last but definitely not least,  I have a passion for training. My past training experience I joined IFMSA & EMSA in 2006, when entering the TBH project. Been Local president, Vice President of the National Board (together with Lies in the board), went to international assemblies, did some international taskforces, conferences. I am a trainer since 2008 and delivered many local, national, international, interorganizational trainings. In 2009 I entered LSS as participant. Last LSS edition in Ljubljana I was part of the trainers team trainer, and this year will be my second year as trainer at LSS. My core field of training Facilitation and decision making |
